Balance Or Alignment?
It Is Balance If
The steering wheel shakes
Usually at a particular speed band, often 55 to 70 mph. That is a front wheel out of balance.
The seat vibrates
A shake you feel through the seat rather than the wheel usually points to the rear.
It started after new tires
A set that was never balanced properly, or a weight that has come off.
It Is Alignment If
It pulls to one side
Balance does not cause a pull. Alignment, a dragging brake or a tire problem does.
The wheel sits crooked
Driving straight with the wheel off-centre is toe, which is alignment. Wheel alignment.
One edge is wearing
